Resort Wellness Weekend Instagram post
We recently had an amazing trip to Primland, the 5-star sporting and relaxation resort nestled in the mountains of southern Virginia. It was so fantastic that we're looking for similar experiences. We saw Cloudland at McLemore on Instagram, and it looks very much like Primland, but in the Georgia mountains. Since we have family nearby, it seems like the perfect spot for our next getaway.
Scrolling through their social media, I stumbled upon an Instagram post (or two) that, frankly, didn't feel like it belonged to a five-star resort. It’s fine, but it looks like it was done quickly. Although I like to spend an hour on my challenges I don’t like them to look quick or like they were thrown together. Being an Airbnb Superhost with a passion for hospitality, I saw this as a fun creative challenge. I'm planning a second post, using another example from the same brand, to demonstrate the power of cohesive social media branding.
Leveraging Adobe Express, which is promoted as an effective social media design tool, I aimed to address the visual inconsistency I observed. I retrieved their established brand colors and fonts from their website to ensure cohesion. While their overall social media presence boasts strong photography and branding, the event 'flyer' style posts significantly deviate from this standard.
(If you’re on mobile I apologize that squarespace only allows videos to fit within a certain size and makes it smaller, it’s a little bigger if you turn your phone horizontal.) Given the strong performance of video posts on Instagram, I chose to create a subtly dynamic video. The moving fog across the mountains, coupled with the low volume of birdsong (it’s turned off here), adds a layer of engagement. This approach delivers the analytical benefits of video content while preserving a refined and subtle presentation.
I've presented my post alongside two of their high-quality images to showcase its seamless integration into their social media aesthetic. For repurposing across platforms, such as Instagram Stories or Reels, they can leverage Adobe Express's dynamic resizing capabilities for efficient format adjustments.
I’m super happy with how this turned out and I’m looking forward to experimenting more with subtle video additions in my own properties social media feed!
