PWC Library Stuffed Animal Sleepover & Storytime Flyer

This flyer was a real challenge! I saw it in the library and was immediately struck by the sheer amount of information, which was tough to digest. The redesign took me about an hour and a half, much longer than usual.

Similar to my work on the National Sporting Library and Museum project, I began by creating a color palette derived from the county's branding. I also used font identification software to find close matches for the logo's fonts. While they might not be perfect, they're similar enough for this exercise.

BEFORE

The flyer's visual design was strong, but the information layout made it difficult to follow. While the 'Stuffed Animal Sleepover and Storytime' event was correctly emphasized, the placement of additional details above and below created a confusing reading experience.

AFTER

The core focus of my redesign was to establish a clear information and text hierarchy, which proved challenging due to the extensive content. Ideally, I would have sought clarification on the essential information and potential areas for removal. Instead, I carefully worked with the provided text, making strategic edits to improve readability and reduce density.

I'm really happy with the new layout! It feels much smoother and easier to read. Using the county's branding colors and fonts, even subtly, definitely helped tie everything together. Plus, even though it's bright, the complementary colors make it easy on the eyes.

This project was a bit tricky, but I'm super pleased with the final result. Library ads for kids and families? Seriously, the design possibilities are endless! It was a total blast and I'm excited to try a few more!
